Network Sidebar for UniFi helps IT teams troubleshoot Wi-Fi issues faster by displaying access point information directly in Zendesk. When a user reports "the Wi-Fi isn't working in room M305", you can instantly see the AP status, channels, and client count.
The app uses a location field on your tickets to look up matching access points by their naming convention.

Requirements
- Zendesk Suite Professional or higher (or Support Professional for private apps)
- UniFi Network with cloud access (unifi.ui.com)
- UniFi Network API key from developer.ui.com
- Zendesk custom field for location/room number
Setup
Get started in minutes:
- Create an API key at developer.ui.com
- Note your Console ID from your UniFi URL
- Install the app from Zendesk Marketplace
- Configure API key, Console ID, and location field
- Start viewing AP info on tickets!
AP Naming Conventions
The app matches room numbers to AP names using configurable patterns. Common conventions supported:
- Contains: "M305" matches "Building-M305-AP01" (default)
- Starts with: "M305" matches "M305-AP01"
- Middle segment: "M305" matches "MON-M305-AP01"
- Ends with: "M305" matches "AP-M305"
Security
- API credentials stored securely in Zendesk settings
- No network data is stored - fetched in real-time
- All communication over HTTPS
- Rate-limited to prevent abuse
- Backend only accepts requests from Zendesk domains
